Persona 5 Has Shipped 2.4 Million Copies Worldwide

What’s up Persona fans out there? It’s been two years since the launch of the JRPG by Atlus, Persona 5. Last April 4th marked the second anniversary of this roleplaying game. With the anniversary, Atlus‘ console games director Naoto Hiraoka has revealed the units shipment for Persona 5.
From the translation of Persona Central, in a new interview, Atlus‘s console game director Naoto Hiraoka has revealed that Persona 5 has shipped 2.4 million copies worldwide as of January 2019. Previously, the milestone was at 2.2 million copies in March 2018 which include the digital copies.
For the overview of the game, this game takes place in modern day Tokyo as it follows the main protagonist Joker as he was falsely accused of an assault after his transfer to Shujin Academy. During the middle of the school year, he and other student have awakened their Persona powers as they become the group of vigilantes named as the Phantom Thieves of Heart.
Persona 5 was released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 last September 2016 in Japan and April 2017 worldwide. And, the PS4 and PS4 version are still available here at Playasia.
