Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection has been revealed earlier this year for the Nintendo Switch. Originally, the collection is slated for a May 28th release with a huge bunch of additional goodies. Unfortunately, it seems like you guys need to have some extra bag of patience as this collection is going to be released later than expected.

Publisher Leadman Games and developer DrinkBox Studios announced that they have to push back the release date of Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection to August 6th from its previously announced May 28th release date. According to both companies, they have arrived at this decision due to some unspecified technical difficulties that they have encountered during the course of the game’s development.

Worry not though, Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection enthusiasts, DrinkBox and Leadman Games have some good news for us! It’s been confirmed that all the DLC for both games will be included in the collection. On PS4, all the DLC will be included in the disc, while on Nintendo Switch, the DLC will be included as codes in the box.

You can check out DrinkBox Studios’ statement in a press release below:

“We just wanted to let you know that due to unforeseen circumstances, the physical release of the Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection for Switch and PS4 has been officially delayed until August 6th. It turns out that it’s not as simple to release a multi-application cart/disk as we initially thought! We’re confident in this new date however, and do not foresee any further delays.
On the plus side, while we were figuring all of this out we’ve also figured out a way to include all of the DLC for both games as part of the purchase. On PS4, all DLC will be included on the disc, and on Switch the DLC will be included as codes in the box.

Plus, Leadman Games also took its official Twitter account to share the news to everyone.

This physical bundle includes both action-packed 2D brawlers, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition and Guacamelee! 2. The extra bonuses include a Double-sided “Where’s Juan” poster, download codes for both soundtracks, and an instruction manual, and the recently announced DLC for both games. So, there’s more than just the games in the basket!

Game Overview

For those who are unfamiliar with Guacamelee or its sequel, it’s one of the best Metroidvania-style games in the years before. Inspired by Mexican folklore, the game features challenging platforming and Metroidvania progression elements. The good thing is that players take control of a wrestler named Juan Aguacate who outshines in performing wrestling moves and somehow has an outstanding jumping and platforming skills.

Guacamelee has a fast-paced combat system and level design that might frustrate you at times, however, the game can also be very rewarding once you overcome all the hurdles that you face along the way.
