Sega officially announced that the next entry to the iconic Yakuza game franchise, Yakuza 7, is now known as Yakuza: Like a Dragon in the Western regions or Yakuza 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness/Ryu ga Gotoku 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness in Japan (龍が如く7 光と闇の行方).

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the eighth main release in the Yakuza franchise which mainly features a brand new protagonist. So, we say goodbye to The Dragon of Dojima, Kazuma Kiryu. This action role-playing game is coming to Japan on January 16th, 2020. Meanwhile, the Western localization will come in 2020 as well. So, folks please wait for the Western release date announcement.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon welcomes the new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, a low-level yakuza who wants to prove something especially his self-worth. With this, let’s join his journey with his fellow yakuza members as they want to rise above from rags to golds in the action RPG.

With this upcoming Yakuza game, this is the reimagining of the iconic video game franchise which marks the series 15th anniversary. Explore the nooks and crannies of Japan never-before-seen in the franchise. Plus, the combat system is getting better than ever as the system goes undergo in an overhaul as it is the mixture of Yakuza’s established and known action and turn-based RPG battle system.
