Sendai Rumors

While pursuing the Shibuya incident, the Phantom Thieves are told by public safety police officer Zenkichi Hasegawa that “the police suspect the Phantom Thieves to be the culprits of the bizarre incident,” and so to clear their name, they infiltrate the mysterious other world known as “Jail” and lead the Shibuya case to resolution.

However, incidents where Jail is thought to be involved are occurring not only in Shibuya, but in all over Japan.

In order to resolve the incidents occurring in Japan, the Phantom Thieves begin an RV trip and arrive at Sendai, the city where Date Masamune ruled.

Sendai is famous not only for its Tanabata Festivala, but also for its food culture such as beef tongue and zunda. Recently, light novel author Ango Natsume (voiced by Daisuke Kishio) is extremely popular; wild fans form a crowd at his autograph event and appear bizarrely excited.

On the way, the Phantom Thieves run into a woman named Kuon Ichinose (voiced by Youko Hikasa) at a beef tongue restaurant they stop at. And she gives a passionate speech about how great beef tongue is and then leaves… Who in the world is she?

Meanwhile, the Phantom Thieves arrive at the Sendai Jail. An ominous, fantasy-esque building reminiscent of the Middle Ages stands before them, and there are even shadows that call themselves the Four Devas. The guard shadow is also a formidable foe. This is a Jail where you can never let your guard down.

Develop and Strengthen Each Character

In addition to leveling-up characters, various other growth elements are being prepared. Develop your favorite characters to battle with a greater advantage.

BAND

The Phantom Thieves’ bond strength, called “BAND,” allows you to stregnthen parameters such as HP and attack power, and learn abilities that will prove useful in various situations. By alloting the BAND Points you earn as you progress through the story and by defeating enemies, you will be able to strengthen the Phantom Thieves’ bonds.

Master Arts

“Master Arts” are character-specific actions. As you battle more and more, you will be able to add unique actions to that character. The more you play as one character, the more diverse actions will become possible.

Shop

You can purchase equipment and items at the shop. In addition to shops set up by Sofia, there are also shops in each city, and even possibly some local bargains.

The report mainly discusses character development and introduces the City of Sendai.

A video snippet that only focuses on Sendai is also here (though this part is also included on the video trailer above). Watch it below.

Another footage that focuses on Character Development is here ( this part is also included in the video trailer above).

The game is due out on February 20, 2020, in Japan. Stay tuned for the release date announcement for other regions.
