The period between the 15^th and 17^th centuries is commonly renowned as the Age of Exploration.
During these 200 years, many new territories have been discovered, and the Old World powers started a period of conquering that gave birth to the phenomenons of colonialism and globalization.
Thanks to the captains of the Republic of Venice, Portugal, and the United Kingdom, European people could witness the arrival of previously unknown crops such as potatoes, tobacco, vanilla, tomatoes, and many other ones. But these new products of the land were not alone; in fact, a lot of luxury goods from the Americas and Asia reached the houses of the richest people, to show everyone the taste for beautiful things.
Obviously, this age was not all sunshine and rainbows; the Age of Exploration increased also the hugely tragic commerce of people as slaves.

While hundreds of kings, queens, and merchants sailed the seven seas; during these centuries another Age of Exploration silently arose among the courts of Europe. In 1610, the Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei was the first person who observed the night sky with a new object called “telescope”, and thanks to it he could discover Jupiter’s moons, lunar craters the phases of Venus, and disprove the theory of the Aristotelian geocentrism.
Due to Galileo’s studies, many other scientist have been inspired by Urania (the Muse of Astronomy) to devote their careers to the mysteries of the cosmos paving the way to the Space Age.

Begun with the launch of the Soviet satellite Sputnik 1 in 1957; the world entered into a new era. An era that was only imagined by thousands of astronomers, writers, and movie directors.
From 2001: A Space Odyssey to the Marvel multiverse; Sputnik 1 changed everything, and even more, people realized that we are only a grain of sand in the vastness of the universe. Anyway, five days ago, we entered into a new phase of Space Age; as you maybe already know, for the very first time a private company spaceship reached the International Space Station; obviously, we’re referring to the SpaceX Falcon 9.
Probably the next step will be the colonization of other planets, but while we waiting that this happens; we can enjoy the life in space with The Outer Worlds for Nintendo Switch!
