Playasia Launches New Games Publisher Branch

Hong Kong – August 31st, 2022 – Independent retailer Playasia celebrates 20 years in the video game industry this year by formally launching Playasia Publishing, a new video game software branch of Playasia designated to further the goal of providing games for a global audience.

Playasia Publishing’s inception builds on the back of Playasia’s two decades of experience in online retail and distribution of games for partners across Asia, as well as a six-year history operating as an exclusive partner for hundreds of unique physical titles.

With a long established and growing customer base with an affinity for Japanese and Asian media Playasia’s immediate focus will be on improving the global availability of such titles – while continuously looking to all regions for innovation.

Playasia Publishing will look to provide direct assistance to developers through the software development and publishing processes – including assisting in the process of bringing existing titles to new platforms and improving accessibility through language options.

Continuing the philosophy of accessibility in all forms, physical games will play an important role in the catalogue offered by Playasia Publishing. With a new standard of collector’s edition already in development for upcoming titles it will be a high priority to have our software released in the familiar format we all love.

    Re-release the entire Tokyo Extreme Racer series!
    There is a gap in the market for those unique and amazingly deep Japanese racing games.

    I agree with VanFinale: if PlayAsia can keep a high standard of translations that are /accurate/, as well as censorship-free, I’ll buy from PlayAsia every day of the week. I’m sick and tired of Western publishers bastardizing Japanese games because the woke SJWs have completely and totally infiltrated and destroyed the localization process (see Nintendo Treehouse, modern day ATLUS, NISA for egregious censorship examples; see Crapcom, Squeenix, IDEAFACTORY Int’l, and everything Victor Ireland ever touches for completely destroyed script rewrites, mistranslations, and terrible localizations; and this isn’t even including all of the woke shit that gets injected when possible).

    All I want is an ACCURATELY TRANSLATED, CENSORSHIP-FREE game; though the latter is a slippery slope as Marvelous has proven by them censoring their ideas from the conception level before they are even made. This restriction on “sexualized” content is what forced Kenichiro Takaki’s hand to leave Honey Parade. Just give me accurately translated, censorship-free games and I’ll be all good. I don’t even care if the scrip reads a little stilted. It’s still a damn side better than the garbage we’ve been getting out of NISA since their god damn inception, and all Western publishers, in general.
