description

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva is Layton and Luke's first movie debut. Opera singer Janice wrote a letter to her former teacher Layton, about the strange appearance of a friend she assumed dead long ago. Now, not only is her friend alive, but claimed that she has the key to eternal life. To solve the mystery, Layton and his assistants Remi and Luke set off toward the Crown Venton Opera house, only to get involved in a new series of puzzling events.

Art style and music followed the same vein of the games, the soundtrack is fully orchestrated with warm but mysterious tones, it draws you both into puzzle, into the hearts of the people and into the elegant middle class London in the steam punk era.

Besides instrumental, there is also a vocal by the Diva Janice herself (feat Mizuki Nana). Play-Asia will bring you the DVD as soon as it is out, in the mean time, sink into the Layton atmosphere.

A brilliant soundtrack that brings in familiar tunes from the games and yet still feels fresh because of the different arrangements of songs. It's a really great buy because I wasn't able to afford buying all the other OSTs in the series, but this one CD gathers music from all the different games with a different twist, and so is really worth the buy. :)

Professor Layton and The Eternal Diva Soundtrack
The score to this first Professor Layton anime movie is in a similar style to music heard throughout the games themselves.
Of note to fans, Professor Layton's theme as heard in "The Curious Village" appears here as the title track, newly performed for the movie, and appears in a number of variant forms (Tracks 1, 22, 29). Fans will also recognise puzzle themes from the earlier games as well as the "Tower Theme" "Pursuit in the Night" and "Curious Village".
"Theme of the Death Call" from Professor Layton and The Devils Flute appears quite often in this score in a number of forms, to represent the film's primary antagonist.
There is new music on offer too, for the character "Whistler" and other well-fitting pieces too.
On the whole, this CD offers fresh performances of now "classic" Layton game themes, which almosts acts as a best-of album, with some other pieces besides.
The final track is sung in Japanese by the Jenis Quatlane character, and is the only vocal track on the CD; for other Quatlane performances, seek out the "Eternal Diva" image album.
Recommended listening.
