Publishing Manager (π International Candidates)
As we expand our focus into video game software releases our Publishing Manager would be an integral part of our process to develop effective strategy for publishing, license acquistion, and direct to consumer distribution. Expertise in the video game industry and understanding of affinity for Japanese products would be very useful traits for someone leveraging our existing audience and customer base.
Responsibilities:
The Playasia Publishing Manager would work closely with our existing departments for video game retail, marketing, wholesale & distribution, as well as our third party partners.
- Managing the lifecycle of Playasia Publishing game releases
- Persuing licensing contracts and monitoring license availability
- Finding new development studios for external partnership, managing of those relationships
- Monitoring and ensuring standards in our developer-partnered game releases
- Collaboration and development of roadmaps and budgeting with Marketing
- Coordinating the global physical and digital launch of a game
- Monitoring and reporting sales performance metrics
- Identifying problems, risks, and missed opportunities with projects
Preferred Skillset:
- Solid understanding of market trends and consumer preferences
- Familiarity with the availabiliy of Japanese software in the west historically (e.g. ability to know what games have been localized)
- Excellent project management skills and awareness of time
- Ability to manage and motivate a team, coordinate collective efforts
- Ability to effectively communicate (in English) with other Playasia departments

Events Manager (πΊπΈ United States Candidates)
In order to further increase our presence in the United States our Events Manager would be tasked with significantly increasing Playasia's on-site brand, store, and community presence at various United States-based gaming and anime conventions.
Responsibilities:
The Playasia Events Manager for the United States would work closely with our marketing, design, and product departments to create interactive brand and sales focused booths. A significant task of this role would be relationship management and coordination with external event partners.
- Managing and planning a Playasia event roadmap for the United States
- Developing relationships and communications with relevant event coordinators
- Providing recommendations for product demand based on knowledge of an event (i.e. matching sales focus to audiences)
- Monitoring and communicating with Playasia design teams for booth and asset creation
- Enforcing brand quality and adherence to standards
- Identifying problems, risks, and missed opportunities with projects
Preferred Skillset:
- Solid understanding of popular and growing events in the United States
- Familiarity with the attendees and types of vendors/booths that exist at events in the United States
- Excellent communication skills and ability to expand our list of active events partners
- Availability to travel to a reasonable amount of events within the United States
- Ability to effectively communicate (in English) with other Playasia departments
