ADDICTIVE "BINGO TOKEN" SYSTEM
A cool game of Sengoku Basara focused on Sanada Family history. Good graphics, gameplay, combos, musics and game modes but a little bit repetitive like all Musou games style.
This game shows how much Capcom just lost it.
It's a fine game, well made. But, while TK keeps releasing their games all around the world, Capcom keeps this series locked in Japan.
All the menus are in Japanese, so, get ready for some guess work if you are not fluent in the language.
And I'm not fluent, at all.
A good number of characters, nice gameplays and good graphics.
A very good game overall.
Sengoku Basara Sanada Yukimura Legend is a fantastic game as far as gameplay goes, doubtlessly the best in the series, 5 of the 6 new characters(Fuck Nobuyuki he's trash) are great additions to the roster, and I hope they stay in the roster for future games.
The story is significantly shorter than every other Basara game before it, because it focuses only the Takeda faction, rather than all the other factions individually. That said it's shorter than even I initially thought, at only 11 primary story stages, and 15 backstory stages, the majority of which are just one on one fights, and thus also very short. On the plus side however, once you beat the main story mode you can replay each stage with every character that was in Sumeragi
If you're dedicated enough you can beat the entire story in a day, honestly. This is disappointing however as the first time I played Sengoku Basara 3(Samurai Heroes in the west) it took me a full 3 months to 100%, and it was one of the best games i'd ever played, same with Sengoku Basara 4/Sumeragi.
On the plus side however we do have the Sanada Trials mode, essentially Bloody Palace from Devil May Cry, a mode in which you go through 60 rounds of enemies and bosses, fighting every character in the game, further, if you can beat this mode the payout is absolutely ridiculous, usually upwards of 1 million Zeni, and I absolutely love this mode. We finally have a dedicated confined arena to test out characters and combos with full precision. This is a fantastic addition and I hope this as well returns in every future installment.
Is this game a good game?
Yes, in fact I think it's a great game, and if you're a very technical in depth player I think you'll be coming back to this game for months after you finish it, honing your skills and mastering combos.
Is it worth the price however?
Honestly the answer is no, not currently anyway, not at 50 dollars for the Asian version, or 60 dollars for the Japanese version. I don't regret my decision to purchase this game at full price, as I love the Sengoku Basara series, and own every game, but I can't guarantee you'll feel the same way I do.
It's a great game, no doubt, but unless you really want it, i'd say wait for a price drop, wait until it's 30 or 40 dollars, and then buy it, it'll be more than worth it then.
As a person who loves Sanada, this game was really fun. I definitely recommend.
