if you've ever played any Starfleet Command games way back in the day, then this game is definitely for you. Tactical Assault does a great job of capturing the feel of those old PC starship battles (all rendered in 3d) in a portable format. there is action, as you control your ship in real-time battle maneuvers, as well as strategy, since you have to manage the power-usage of different weapons, defenses and maneuvers. unfortunately, the customization element (upgrading your crew and systems) doesn't really feel like it has much effect on either the strategy or the story. the license is underused, with a new storyline and little more than aesthetic connections to the world of Star Trek. however, if you are a fan of the original tv series (and the old PC games), then you'll find a whole lot to enjoy here.
