I'm a bit vexed as to what I should say about Telltale's The Walking Dead. It's a really enjoyable experience, but if you break it down, it seems kind of a fraud...
TWD is a close relative to the old point and click adventure games, like Monkey Island and such. Its main goal is to tell a story. A story of a man and a little girl who try to survive in a zombie apocalypse.
The core mechanic is presented to be the choices you make throughout the game. In fact, the game claims that the story shapes itself by the choices the player makes. That is a big fat lie. The story is on rails and you only have the illusion of choice. That becomes disappointingly clear through a second playthrough...
Is TWD a good game overall? Yes, definately. But is it worth buying? I really cannot say. In my opinion, this game deserves a playthrough, but a second one will ruin it for you.
Lastly, you'll get a mandatory platinum trophy upon completion. And, god oh god, stay away from the 400 days DLC. It's poorly written, extremely out of context, it offers nothing storywise and it's made solely for instant money grabbing.
Muy recomendable para todos los fans de la serie.
