Travessia / Japanese Rumba [Limited Edition] (Vinyl)

Tetsuhiro Daiku, a master Yaeyama folk singer from Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, has released a 7-inch cut from his 2003 album Horai Gyo! This double cider covers "Travesia" by Milton Nascimento, a singer of Brazilian Mina's descent, and covered by Moonriders, and "Japanese Rumba" by Haruomi Hosono, a famous Hawaiian song also included in his album "Mamaiso". Both songs are backed by the Pascals, led by Rocket Matsu, and are a stateless folkloric fusion of Okinawan folk songs and various other elements. This is a long-awaited release that has been anticipated by Brazilian and world music fans, as well as Japanese music fans and the domestic DJ scene, for its analog release. This is the world's first analog release.
