In a near-future Tokyo, detective Kaname Date is on the case of a mysterious serial killer. A date must investigate crime scenes as well as dreams on the hunt for clues. One rainy night in November, a woman's body is found at an abandoned theme park, mounted on a merry-go-round horse. She had been stabbed repeatedly, and her left eye was gouged out. Kaname Date of the Metropolitan Police Department arrives on the scene. He recognizes the woman. Suddenly, he hears a noise from inside the merry-go-round. He breaks into the merry-go-round's central column to find a young girl. And in her hands, she grips a bloody ice pick.

Not as great as the first game
The first game was a lightning in a bottle experience, and the sequel failed to deliver that cringey, highly enjoyable, highly deep, imperfect perfection the first game had. Not to say this game was bad in any way, just....lacking, and uses "convenience" when it wants instead of filling plot holes and gaps

Great visual novel
I really enjoyed the mature story and the Sci-fi lite setting. really a great time. Graphics are way better than the everage VN too.

A must for visual novel, adventure fans, and fans of the first game
This game, which is now a part of a series, continues to impress with amazing cast of characters and story that keeps you engaged throughout.
Moving to 3D graphics have also been a bonus as it allows for more dynamic emotions to be captured. A must for those who enjoyed the first one.

Great visual novel, we need more of them on Xbox !
AI The Somnium Files is a great VN with great visuals and settings. Good soundtrack as well.
It is more elaborated than a lot of games in the genre, as you have many scenes in 3D to explore.
The story is really interesting and has several branching paths.
It mixes very serious situations about murders and crime scenes with some humor to keep things light.
The character design is very good as well.
I greatly enjoyed the game and recommend it.
