Two JRPG masterpieces return. Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins are back with improved graphics and new features to aid game progression, making them even easier to play!
A long time ago, there was a great conflict between the evil god and the people. After a fierce battle, the people managed to seal off the evil god, but what was left behind was only a desolate land. The people thus chose to abandon the land and live in the sky.
Such fairy tales were passed down as legends. At this time, people had wings called Wings of the Heart and lived peaceful life. It was an era of long-lasting tranquility. ...But the collapse had quietly begun.
When a young man calls your name, the name of the spirit, the story begins to unfold. A story set on a floating continent in the sky, where thoughts and prayers intersect.

Never thought this would get reissued!
Never thought that this would get remastered/reissued for modern consoles in my wildest dreams. Hope this is Bamco testing the waters for other reissues of classic titles that are still trapped on their original consoles.
I'm sure that I could find something to complain about(as several have in the previous reviews,) but I'm really just happy that I can pop this game in my Switch and travel back to simpler times. In my mind, while I do disagree with all the censorship that does happen in to many of these modern reissues, I would still take this over nothing.

Wings of the Heart Take Flight Once More
When I heard back in February 2023 that Baten Kaitos was back and coming to Nintendo Switch, I was extremely excited. I think this is a great remaster overall. While it does not include the horrendously bad English dubs as it is only a Japanese voiceover, that is okay if you do not mind reading text. The games have an excellent battle system, excellent quality-of-life improvements to ease new players into these games such as speeding up the game and no encounters, and a good story. These games are made by MonolithSoft who also developed Xenoblade so the pedigree is there. Ultimately, I would recommend playing these games especially if you never have before. It's well worth it to have these games on your system to go. I love Baten Kaitos! It is an excellent series.

New Translation Ruins it
A really good game. A lot of the text has been changed. And on top of that no English translation is availible at all. I still own the Gamecube versions and likely will keep them. But the originals are kind of expensive. So if this is the only way you can own this and show you want more in the future this is a great option. To be clear this game is a victim of censorship, as well as odd additions to the translation that have no bearing on anything but what some translator wanted to insert.

Incredible
Without a doubt, one of the greatest games on the switch. The deck building aspect really doesn’t detract from how good this game is, so don’t let that push you away. I was skeptical at first as well. The apparent lack of voice acting bothers many, but I really don’t mind, I’m just happy to own it, and you will be too.
