Fresh off the press we have Batman: Arkham Origins, developed by WB Games Montreal. Arkham Origins is set several years prior to the two previous Arkham games, allowing the player to assume control over a younger, rawer, Batman. The story witnesses the key relationships and iconic characters of the Batman franchise being formed and shaped; focusing on the way a young Batman is set on the path to become the Dark Knight. A large portion of the gameplay sits around Batman's stealth mechanics, detective abilities, and smart use of gagetry - all in and out of combat. Among the Batman: Arkham series, this game will be the first to feature multiplayer gameplay. Can you shape Batman into the hero Gotham needs?

fans of batman will find the majority of the gameplay being similiar which is not a bad thing. there is no ground breaking content but i had fun all the same.

Building upon a legend.
A few years ago the gaming world was introduced to Arkham City. A game that recreated the superhero genre and allowed anyone with a gaming console to become The Bat. The game was created by Rockstar and created such a ripple in the gaming world that people are still talking about it years later. Since then, WB Games have taken over from Rockstar and created Arkham Origins. This game is almost a direct clone of Arkham City, but now on a bigger scale and deeper story lines. Batman/Bruce Wayne has been at the throat of crime for about a year in this game adaptation and has now become the target for many assassins hired by Black Mask. In addition to fighting off these hitmen, there are side missions that all add to the experience of the game. Even though the game has everything one enjoyed in Arkham City, it has made a few tweaks and additions to the game. You are able to fast travel between a fairly extensive map by using the Batwing as well as return to and explore the Bat Cave.
The game play and fight sequences are flowing and the gaming engine allows the player to enjoy and time hits well, especially with a horde of enemies. There are the usual enemies: unarmed, armed, armoured, shielded and now to add to the excitement, a martial artist and a brute which requires your cape to knock him off balance.

Overall a great game that will keep you in Gotham long after bedtime and will keep throwing you challenges. A familiar game play as before, but this saves a lot of time on tutorial and training. Buy it, you won't regret it if you liked the previous Arkham installments.
