Item Description

Capcom Belt Action Collection is an essential collection of beat ‘em ups includes Final Fight (1989), Captain Commando (1991), The King of Dragons (1991), Knights of the Round (1991), and Warriors of Fate (1992). Additionally, two never before ported titles make their console debut, Armored Warriors (1994) and Battle Circuit (1997), allowing players to experience these arcade gems at home for the first time. These seven titles exemplify some of the best side-scrolling, co-op fun of the arcade era, and introduced us to iconic Capcom characters such as Captain Commando, plus Cody, Guy and Mike Haggar from Final Fight.

Best way to get a physical copy that plays in English, and at a decent price
This collection, known as the "Capcom Beat Em Up bundle" in North America, still does not have a North American physical release. I already had prior experience with Final Fight (one of my all-time favorite beat-em-ups), Knights of the Round, and Captain Commando, but had never played the King of Dragons, Warriors of Fate, Armored Warriors, or Battle Circuit. If you've played and enjoyed any of these games in the past, you'll love this whole series. In many ways, the games are alike; they are, after all, all arcade side scrolling beat 'em up games with a brief storyline, multiple stages and enemies, environmental obstacles like barrels, crates, or chests that can be smashed to reveal health items or weapons for a slight edge in you battles, and end of stage bosses. Settings range from the ancient to modern to futuristic. While I love Final Fight as one on my favorite games of all time, Battle Circuit has certainly won me over with the silly plotline and the over-the-top cast of characters; I meanwho wouldn't want to play as a fighting Venus Flytrap?

The game started right up in English on my US Switch without any setup. All the games are in one file, unlike many other collections like the recent Final Fantasy remasters, so you don't have to exit out of the game to play a different one. Controls are simple for anyone to pick up to play for all seven games - one button to jump, one to attack, push both buttons at the same time for a special move at the cost of a little health, and you attack everything that moves. I didn't run into any issues with slowdown or crashes or errors of any kind. As these are arcade games, they do seem to be a bit tougher than console conversions--I found myself hitting continue more often playing Final Fight than usual-- but you have unlimited continues so you can play through to the end.
If you like games like River City Ransom/Girls or Streets of Rage or similar side-scrolling beat 'em ups, you'll most likely get a lot of enjoyment out of this collection. If you, like me, had some prior experience with Capcom arcade beat 'em ups, you'll love this collection.

Capcom arcade nostalgia
Truthfully only bought this for Captain Commando as that one has a special place in my heart. Some of these I’ve never played before. So it was nice to try them all out. Controls are practically the same for all games making the learning curve simple and you get several different themed games so everyone should find something that appeals to them here. Very fun time wasters you can pick up on the go when you just want to kill a few minutes and not devote large amounts of time or thought to more demanding games.

Awesome Selection
This collection includes some of my most beloved brawlers made by Capcom.
If you have any love for the genre, you should give this one a try,
since it includes so many must-plays from the good old time when the genre was at its peak.

Great Collection of Beat'em Ups
I wanted a physical copy of Final Fight for the Nintendo Switch and this was the only way I knew at the time to get it. I was not familiar with the other games but I had a lot of fun playing them.
