Pretty Decent
The game as a whole is pretty good. Intense, fast paced, and challenging, are all things that describe this title. The only real downside to the gameplay is the flashlight idea. Yes,while it does add some challenge and intensity to the game, it also takes away from the fun factor, as it gets annoying. The old enemies are back, as well as some new baddies. Each enemy has also been remodeled, so they each have their uniqueness from the original characters. The graphics are incredible, and the sound is fantastic. If your fan of the original, this is a definite pick up.

Not a sequel
People should keep in mind when playing Doom 3 that this game pretends the events of Doom and Doom 2 never occured, and feels more like an update and remake of the original Doom than a whole new story. Many of the original enemies are there, plus a few new ones, and they all look great with updated graphics and sound. The final boss will bring back memories for anyone who has played the earlier games.
Gameplay is pretty linear, you will almost always know where you have to go, but you will retrace the same ground a lot in each level as the mini \'fetch quests\' appear. But the action is pretty intense and you will be kept busy so you\'ll never get bored.
