As the world's economy shifted towards regionalization, the competition between "O.C.U." and "U.S.N." was the most intense. As a soldier of "U.S.N.", the main character Walter lived his life in this historical time of war between nations. What will be the future? What is the conspiracy hiding in the darkness? All of these and more create experiences and reflections for everybody via Walter's eyes.

This game is the commemorative 10th anniversary production of Square-Enix's robot simulation game series, "Front Mission". The biggest feature this time is the reinterpretation of the battles of the series using Walter's viewpoint and keeping within his lifespan. Just as the subtitle suggests, there are many unknown side developments for the battles, and the hidden truths increase the helplessness felt and cruelty of the tides of time through human eyes, bringing new insights and reflections into war and humanity.
