I fell in love with Mass Effect one and they stepped it up for ME2. They fixed most of the issues and improved on the game. I have played it over 5 times and still fine more to do. A solid mix between shooter and RPG. Not for everyone, but has a huge audience.

Highly Recommended
This game has gotten excellent reviews in the major gaming sites. I just like to say they are right. This game is probably GOTY so far.

Fantastic production values
One of the best-looking games I've ever played, with a truly cinematic feel. The story continues to be engaging, though certain aspects will certainly need to be explained in ME3 to truly make the ME2 story work. Characters are great, as usual, especially my favorites Moridin and Jack.
Gameplay seems a little bit simpler than the first ME but is still satisfying; enemy AI seems somewhat improved.
Some players will miss the Mako, and the "planet scanning" that replaces it is rather repetitive and dull. A few areas seem smaller than they should be. There seem to be fewer side missions than in ME 1, but they are more varied and interesting.
Finally, a big thumbs-up to EA/Bioware for using a simple disc check instead of the awful SecuROM, which had prevented me from being able to properly install ME1.
