The game combay plays kind of like Hyperdimension Neptunia and Disgaea where you get to certain character range on the map and then unleash hell upon them. You can recruit new creatures/units by using the correct costumes to suit their interest. Mechanically the game is a mash of a lot of various genres with a strangely deep, but grindy, leveling system. The game has some very curb-stomping diffiulty spikes now and then, especially with ship combat missions which can catch you unawares too.
Overall this is still an enjoyable experience that will be more enjoyed by the people who know why they buy it. Unaware buyer beware as this might me more, or less, than you've bargained for.
So, if gameplay isn't your concern and you just want anime hijinks, I assure you that you'll find all your looking for in the first 10 minutes of starting the game. If you dig that, enjoy the rest of he ride! Here's hoping the sequel gets here too!
