With someone like Maeda Jun involved in the creation of these wonderful OP/ED themes, it's hardly a surprise that the album containing them both turned out to be awesome as well.
When I listened to the opening theme of Angel Beats!, "My Soul, Your Beats!" for the first time, my interest in the show was instantly captured. Listening to the full version of it for the first time was an equally enjoyable experience, and it hardly needs to be mentioned that it took a while before the CD left my stereo.
I was never as fond of the ending theme, "Brave Song", as I am of the opening theme, but I still loved listening to the full and instrumental versions of it.
Definitely worth the buy even if you haven't even watched the anime; the music can easily stand on its own two legs.

A small review
My Soul, Your Beats! and Brace Song are 2 of the best OP/ED songs I've heard in an anime. The OP is quick, catchy, upbeat and has an excellent piano solo in the beginning.
The ED on the other hand is slow, melodious and touching with a gentle yet strong feeling.
Both songs are highly recommended.

OP's don't need electric guitars
This is a brilliant example of that statement above, the calm melody of brave song and quick tune of My Soul, Your beats are a perfect example of uncommon instruments making just as nice a sound.
