The open world feels overwhelming to explore, so I found it best not to try to investigate every nook and cranny as I typically would in an RPG. I found it made more sense to be guided by the story, which essentially presents you with three story paths early on. You can make progress along any or all of the story paths, at your own pace; important locations related to each path are marked on the map, so you can decide what you want to pursue and head towards your desired destination, exploring as little or as much as you want along the way.

Stuck in the middle
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet seems stuck between the ground breaking freshness of Arceus and the same old gameplay we got used to with past games. It does a lot to improve the gameplay and give players more freedom, but some mechanics that come and go between versions could definitely be revisited to improve the experience even more.
