Item Description
The newest Professor Layton game is coming with more challenging puzzles, interesting characters and an enchanting storyline. All those who have played the Layton Trilogy knew what good partners Layton and Luke make, yet you did not know how they came to know each other. This game answers this mystery. In a strange little town, there is an object called the specter's flute. It has the power to call forth monsters to destroy the town. Together with Remi, a photographer who insists on following him, Layton sets off toward the mist covered town.More mini games, an even larger volume of puzzles, it's time to sharpen your brain.

Another excellent game in the Layton series
This is now the 4th game in the series and the game is now pretty much a yearly affair. To be honest I never expected that there can be so many entries in this series, because I always thought there can only be limited appeal to a puzzle game, and also limited amount of puzzles that these people can come up with to keep people interested!
But really the essence of all the Layton games are not all just the puzzles themselves, but the well written storyline and the suspense that just keeps people intrigued and come back for more. This 4the game in the series is no different. Story again carries lots of suspense, especially it surrounds the story of what makes Luke so special and how come he has decided to follow Layton as an apprentice.
The puzzles in this entry is more varied and the difficulty balance is just about right. Not sure if it is because I am now so familiar with solving puzzles now but it feels a bit easier than The Last Time Journey, but that's a good thing I think because I always felt puzzles in that one was a bit too difficult.
Story is definitely NOT as intense as The Last Time Journey, but that's to be expected because you can hardly top the end of a trilogy (this game is the start to a new trilogy). But still it has enough to carry the players through without too much cold moments.
All in all I think if you have come this far and is still enjoying the Layton series, you will definitely continue to like this one. If you are new to the series, then I think this is a good entry point to the series since you need no prior knowledge to the story of any games before it.
