Not as fun as Portable
This game is different from other rhythm games in the controls and style. In this game you drum to the beat of songs using only 2 sets of buttons.
- It's like the other taiko games but includes 1 Hatsune Miku song and 2 Idolm@ster songs.
- It also has the option to customize your taiko drummer. You can collect hats and change the colors on your drum. Which will show up in-game and on menus.
I think this game is not as fun as Portable because it lacks in minigames. The only minigame in DX is where you battle against other drums but just by playing the normal game. It's like an extension rather than a minigame. Portable had minigames with different controls that were separate in story from the normal game and were challenging.
I also don't like the song selection in this one as much (excluding the 3 previously mentioned) but that's more so my tastes than the game itself.
