Item Description

Bandai Namco Entertainment are once again bringing the world of Digimon to the PS Vita, where players can digivolve, battle, and travel alongside their Digimon — who will now have even more personality with the addition of facial expressions and more training elements!

For the first time in the Digimon World series players will now be able to choose between a male or female protagonist, both of which are seniors at high school, default names Takuto & Shiki. Players will be able to customize the protagonists names.

The Digimon World series wouldn't be what it is without Partner Training! Digimon World: Next Order will be expanding upon it and the "Care" system by allowing players to care for, and adeventure with, two Digimon at the same time.

"ExE"-volution (usually displayed as "ExE") is a new system that appears in Digimon World: Next Order where raising the bond power that players have with their partner Digimon will result in a miraculous evolution.

Digimon will also be much more dynamic in Next Order: on top of the initial announcement of facial expressions Digimon may also expect players to praise them after a successful battle, or even take the battle into their own hands if they see fit. A discipline element has also been added which allows players to select commands when neccesary, whether you praise or scold them is up to you!

Battles have undergone some large changes, most notably the introduction of the cheering mechanic which allows players to encourage certain tactics that your Digimon has chosen (or not chosen) to follow. After players have encountered an enemy they will be able to perform actions (items, tactics, Digimon selection) while their Digimon prepare for battle. Once the battle has begun players will be able to cheer on their digital friends, who will react to the encouragement.

Let's Shinka
This Digimon Next Order bring back the nostalgic gameplay from Digimon Adventure PS1 with added improvements like 2 Digimon to bring to make them Cross Evo, I personally like the game because of this, and the fact the game is in Japanese Voice also add more to my pleasure, the translation is somewhat decent, though I would still prefer if the Digimon name all follow the JP version

So happy to have this
I have to admit, Cyber Sleuth is probably better, but that’s just personal preference. I was lays bummed this never reached the Vita in English. This game is more Digimon goodness, and that is always welcome in my switch library. It’s a remake of an older game, but I didn’t get that sense in my playthrough. If you enjoy just grinding your digimon to max them out, this game has plenty of that to offer.

Tamagotchi on Steroids
This game is great for fans of the franchise that want a little more micromanaging in their lives. It doesn't have an in-depth plot like later Digimon World games, but it's simple fun as you min/max your digimons on your search for that perfect team

Very Good
For those who wanted a new game like Digimon World 1 from ps1. it's very similar with many more digimons. I really liked the story too

Lots of open world monster-raising fun!
It's been over a year and a half since I finished this game, but it still sticks in my mind as one of my favorite games that I played last year. I was initially put off by the battle system, and it's admittedly not great, but once you get used to it, raising your monsters and exploring the world is a load of fun.

From the gameplay I've seen of the original Digimon World game, this one did seem pretty similar. However, I've not played that one myself, so I was reminded more of Monster Rancher. Like the Monster Rancher series, your monsters can train their stats through training machines, but can die after enough time passes, so efficient training is important. As you progress in the game, you can increase their lifespans, and each monster has the potential to start with better stats than the previous one started with, so there's a strong sense of progress as you go through monsters. Once you reach endgame, it's possible to extend your monster's lifespan faster than it depletes, meaning they can live indefinitely.

The world is quite big and opens up more and more as you progress. There are fast travel points, making it easy to get back to whichever location you want quickly. Various Digimon across the world will show up throughout the game with requests for you to fulfill. Upon completing their quests, they usually (maybe always? I don't quite remember) come back to your town and offer some sort of new service or improvement of an existing one, such as the fast travel station that becomes available early in the game.

My recommendation is to get the European version of the game instead of the North American version since you can get the NA preorder DLC for free.
