Item Description

An intimidating genre, bullet hells demand an intense investment from any gamer worth their salt; to be able to navigate an endless net of death requires god-tier reflexes and a 3 second foresight into the complex bullet patterns that enemies weave. That being said, after enough practice, success can be achieved, and the ability to react evolves to mere memorization... right?

Enter Battle Garegga, a shoot 'em up that changes things entirely. Considered to be one of the best of it's kind, the main draw of this game is a simple mechanic: the better you are at the game, the more difficult it becomes.Simply put, it's a masocore gamer's dream. The game features a "Rank System," which tallies up player actions in real time, combining factors like score, how long a life has lasted, number of shots fired, and enemies destroyed to adjust the difficulty accordingly. While this was an invisible mechanic during the original arcade release 20 years ago, this re-release incorporates useful windows depicting rank, displaying all the data accrued. What makes this interesting is the combination of a risk-reward system in a fasted paced style of gaming, and to this day, there hasn't been anything like that
at all.

With this revitalized released, the Premium Edition commemorates 20 years with an OST, a Book on Battle Garegga's development and history, a medal, a decorative clear file set, and more!

A total cult game, it's nice to see that the players of today are getting goaded into taking up a challenge like this; can they keep their rank up though - now that's a different story altogether...

Pocky & Rocky
Great game, great graphics, great remaster of on old game. Perhaps a little too challenging.

Great revival
For those who grew up in the 80s and 90s will surely have a great nostalgia trip, however for those who doesn't have nostalgia for it but looking for a great arcade shoot'em up adventure, this hits the mark so well.

Pocky and Rocky is Back
If you loved the original Pocky and Rocky games on the SNES, what you'll find here is a faithful reimagining of the series with beautiful updated graphics and a couple extra bells and whistles to test your mettle.

If you're coming into this game blind, expect something very old school, especially in the difficulty department! The story mode has enough checkpoints that you can at least beat the game with enough continues, but the harder difficulty levels and trophies will require you to replay the game over and over again to learn enemy patterns and proper strategies. Thankfully it's a short run, and if you're good, you can beat the entire game in a little over an hour. The additional characters mix up the gameplay significantly, but that gameplay is the sole replayability factor here.

Overall, Reshrined is a cute and nostalgic romp from a bygone era. If you're the type of gamer that likes to master something, this is an excellent pickup.

A retro remake done right
An awesome remake of the SNES / SFC cult classic. Challenging but rewarding; easy to play, hard to master. Also, a real master class on how pixel art should be done in the 2020's -forget about your average retro-modern-indie bulls***, this is the real deal.
