This figure is excellent!
I purchased some time ago, the Skyward Sword Link, and was rather disappointed in how utterly fragile it really is. As nice a figure as it is, it was very limited in what its joints let it do and it is DEFINITELY not one you can just take off the shelf and play with for the heck of it. THIS one, from Link between Worlds? THIS one is the superior toy.
Not only is the detail on par with if not better than the prior (A qualm I have is, with how high quality Skyward Sword Link's details are, the chain-mail was just a plain silver finish over a flat plastic with no texture to it. I have the Nintendo World North American version of the same character and he has more detail on his when it comes to this and its smaller and so much cheaper!) But... I see absolutely no problems with this figure, his detail is well executed, he has a LOT more flexibility than Skyward Sword link, and overall he can actually stand upright without falling over, which is a huge problem with SS Link. You absolutely NEED the display stand with that one for any pose at all, even simply standing still unarmed.
As for fragility...
SS Link's flaws
The sword actually broke while I was trying to take it out of the box. Blade snapped off right at the base. I had barely applied any kind of effort to remove it and it just broke.
The shield's grip is two pieces and the smaller can EASILY be lost, and so can the bigger, and neither sits well in each other OR their pegs in the shield, meaning it can be lost as one whole piece together the both of them. The strap for the forearm too is a failure of poor planning, being too short in both peg and strap to fit properly on EITHER arm.
LBW Link
The sword is thick enough to be sturdy!
The shield's parts for the grip are one solid piece, and one very thick, sturdy, and broad enough gap arch piece for the forearm that everything is snug and secure and it doesn't come right off.
Another complaint I had with the SS Link is that the wrist pegs are set up in a way where the hands can just slide right on out and be lost.
Doesn't happen with the ball joint used on the LBW Link! Nice and secure but not too tight that you can't swap them.
All in all, worth it. Figma more than made up for the disappointment that is Skyward Sword Link.
