The Perfect Puzzle
Sega brings us a game of pure gameplay in a mashup between the blob-dropping Puyo Puyo and the classic block dropper Tetris in what is poised to be a super balanced, sometimes very frustrating, competitive puzzle game.
With very careful gameplay mechanics Puyo Puyo Tetris seems to have come up with a whole new set of rules to combine two seemingly similar, but fundamentally different gametypes. There are many modes featuring different iterations of this combination; 4 player offline and online co-op is also a blast to play!

Bought this on Xbox One as soon as I discovered its existence, gotten all of the achievements. Highly recommended to all Puyo Puyo and Tetris fans alike.
Xbox one version reviewed here. Game is bright and colorful with classic tunes. A nice change of pace from the usual xbox title. Control is as good as puyo puyo has ever been. The addition of tetris is cool. Although sega has presented tetris with high speeds in fhe past, this one is very playable. 2d gem.
now this is a fun puzzle game! it reminds me of the fun days of playing "tetris attack" on the weekends with my family friends when we were little kids. This game has a cute inane story with plenty of fun voice acting. the puyo x tetris gameplay is really novel, and neither side feels like its stronger than the other.
This unusual marriage of two classic puzzle games makes for a very enjoyable experience!
Separately, Puyo Puyo and Tetris are enjoyable as they have always been, but there are also very unique combined versus matches and even modes with both kinds of pieces that work really well!
The story mode, though I can't read what's going on, has a great variety of missions that fun and challenging to accomplish with 3 stars.
I just KNEW SEGA wasn't going to localize this for the States (I was right) so I imported it. There's a language barrier for sure, but as a puzzle game, it's entirely playable with zero knowledge of Japanese. If you are a fan of either of these great puzzle games, or more importantly both of them, this one is a for sure buy in my opinion.
