The wilds of Hyrule make for a puzzling game of survival. Climb cliffs to scope out a destination; then cross great distances with the Paraglider or the horses you’ve tamed. You'll discover items for crafting, beasts to hunt, and plants to forage. So scavenge weapons and armor…or claim them from enemies! From hammers to helmets, many items come with unique stats, resistances, effects, and levels of durability. Use everything at your disposal to find and conquer more than 100 Shrines. Luckily, the in-game Sheikah Slate can project Runes that manipulate objects and enemies in clever ways. It's time to forget everything you know about the Legend of Zelda™ series.

The grandest adventure yet.
The game is a true joy from start to finish, and it further cements The Legend of Zelda‘s place as one of the best video game franchises to ever exist.

Best WiiU Game I have
I play BOTW on my WiiU and it is the best WiiU game I have ever played (even better than Super Mario 3D World in my sense). Even after playing for 30+ hours, I feel like it is only the start and it keeps me entertained on and on.
It is not only about WiiU, it is also one of the best LoZ games (together with Ocarina of Time) and I am happy that I decided to buy it.

Breath of the Wild is just as good on the WiiU
I toyed with the decision of investing in a Nintendo Switch so that I could play Breath of the Wild on the new hardware. But sold out pre-orders swayed me towards first getting my Zelda fix on the WiiU. Online comparisons (and there's tonnes) will all tell you that for the most part the image and sound quality are pretty much on par with Switch. Especially since I play on a 120" projector screen with 5.1 surround speaker home theatre system. With the WiiU you can switch to the game pad so you're playing on a pseudo mobile device so the experience is not greatly altered. If I was nitpicking, which is what reviews are all about after all, the load times from a disk are long, compared to the Switch, but other than I experience no difference. The game itself, is a Zelda for a grown up audience, and the fact that you're thrown straight in and forced to find shrines and beat the elements from the get go, that was a great way to get you accustomed to the new Zelda mechanics. Once you get off the main plateaue, the sheer scale of the free world will leave you addicted. I've spent the last 50+ hours of game time just faffing about and haven't made any progress on the main quest, and the fact that this is by choice is what's so great about this game.
