Minor non-issue: You cannot enter this 25-digit code until your existing account expires, or you will get error 0x80169CF9. No worries if you get the error message, just wait until GOLD stops working, then enter the code. It's all good. Worked great for me on 12/24/2015. I'll be back next year for another 12-month code, US or Global, whichever is cheaper.

I purchased the Global Region because the US region is sold out. I have to wait for my current subscription to run out before entering the new code, per the error message at xbox.com. Other than that, no issues. I don't recall if the US region card made me do that last year.
