FUN way to play Pokemon.

This game is a fun and interesting way to play a Pokemon game. With the gameplay being less like the turn-based RPG battles you see in the Pokemon mainline games, this game plays like fighting genre games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken and others. Just Pokemon flavored.

You get a decent variety of Pokemon "fighters" to choose from. 23 altogether with a mix of regular and Legendary Pokemon. 2 of the "fighters" being from the DLC, and each "fighter" falls into a certain "playstyle". Standard, Speed, Power and Technical. So if you want a "fighter" that is in the "standard" playstyle, 2 examples are Blaziken and Suicune. For Power, 2 examples are Charizard and Garchomp. For Speed, 2 examples among your choices are Pikachu Libre and Weavile. For Technical, 2 examples are Shadow Mewtwo and Gardevoir.

Those are just a sample of what options you have just for the fighters. And you can change between any of them at anytime. There's also a lot of other stuff to do in this game, but just don't expect an open world map to walk all around like you do in the mainline Pokemon games. There's a reason why I compared this game to Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

But, for the "RPG" aspect that's found in ALL Pokemon games, there's the Skill Point system. Whenever the Pokemon you're using reaches a certain Skill Level, it gains a Skill Point, and you can use that point to upgrade just 1 of the only four stats they all have. Attack, Synergy, Defense and Strategy. Thus meaning YOU control your Pokemon's growth.

Overall? If you like Pokemon and you like fighting games, this might be a good one for you to go for.
