The shock and excitement of witnessing the birth of a historic work, episode by episode! Volume 3 of the serialized version includes the story from Akira's awakening to the street battle for Akira.
This is the third volume (8 volumes in total) of the Otomo Complete Works of AKIRA, which includes episodes 29-42 (from p201 of Vol. 2 to p167 of Vol. 3 of the Young Magazine KC edition), created by Katsuhiro Otomo when he was 29-30 years old in 1984 and serialized in Young Magazine when it was published twice a month, in the form they were originally published. This volume also follows the format of volumes 1-2, and is published in the "serialized version" with everything, including the frontispiece, restored to the state of the serialized version as much as possible. (For details on the planning intention and editorial policy of the complete works of AKIRA, please refer to the content introduction of "Otomo Katsuhiro Complete Works No. 12 AKIRA 1." This volume also reprints precious color pages and includes them as they were when they were serialized, but what is often overlooked is the opposite, the "monochrome reprint." For example, the first four pages of the 3rd volume of the Young Magazine KC edition, including the double page spread showing Tetsuo being hit by SOL's laser attack, were in black and white when serialized, but were replaced with new colored manuscripts when the book was published, and the original black and white manuscripts are not included in the book. These pages have been "reprinted in black and white" in this book, allowing you to experience "AKIRA" in the form it was originally published in. This is one of the "pleasures" that can only be enjoyed with the "serialized version." The long-awaited third volume of the serialized version is a must-see and must-have for all "AKIRA" fans. Synchronize with the shock and excitement of the moment when this historic work is born, one episode at a time, through the "live serialized version of 'AKIRA'"!
