Item Description

As part of a police special task force, it’s up to you to fight against mysterious, alien-like creatures who have invaded the world.

In the Ark, a multi-cultural city in the near future, disaster strikes when gates to another dimension suddenly appear! Dangerous creatures begin to emerge, attacking the people and polluting the land, and normal police forces are unable to compete with them. To stand up against these threats, a brand new, special police unit is known as Neuron is formed.

Good combat, but an overrated game
After a banger of an opener you think you're in for a real treat but the game fails miserably to keep the opening level of pace soon slowing to a snails pace with uninteresting objectives. The game is structured in a sense as "Police cases" as such you'll spend a lot of time returning to HQ breaking the flow of gameplay. Perhaps the most offensive gameplay is with the "investigation" work it is dull as dishwater. Side content if you care to take your time to find it is just busywork having you do absolute garbage like balancing icecream and boxes from point A to B. The game also can't stick to it's own rules which is a cardinal sin, for instance early in the game you'll quickly figure out you can't fall off edges then later on in the game you can. Theres also aspects of the gameplay mechanics the game completely fails to introduce you to leaving you to trial and error. The game would have been far better served sticking to what it's good at - combat and fast paced action like the opening. I'm not a fan of the controls or camera either the latter lists around like a drunk in combat and the former has you do far more finger gymnastics than necessary. Eg; ZL summons your legion and R dismisses it, why can't ZL do both and have R recalling and "throwing" your legion? This kind of control jank is present with other control aspects too and really is the name of the game here there's things that shouldn't need a button input legions should just do automatically if you look at it with your IRIS on. Eg; Why do you have to guide over your beast legion to a pile of rubble then hit a button combination for it to dig? Square pegs round holes. Visuals for a Switch game look great, especially in handheld, but the amount of dithering used on things like graffiti and signs looks awful. Overall with some streamlining and more time in the oven Astral Chain could have been a fantastic fast paced ride but as it is the game has some occasional high points with the rest being painfully mid.

The developers had half a good game here and for whatever reason didn't leave all the bad ideas and low quality content on the cutting room floor where it belongs. 6/10.

Cyberpunk police story with
Another great game by Platinum. They are one of my favorite developers and I love hack'n'slash action genre. Also, the whole idea with chained monsters next to you reminds me of JoJo, which I am also a fan.

Another masterpiece from the genius team.
There are so many reviews on this particular game, so I can say only this: Astral Chain will be a better experience if you hadn't played the previous games from Platinum. It's so different and odd so some people can be even disappointed. Better keep your mind open and then this game will show you its full potential.

good game
Astral Chain is great improvement from Nier Automata especially Sword play, Nier Automata or perhaps all previous Platinum Games works Sword does not feel solid even other claim so.

i have spend lot of hours on Bayonetta, Vanquish and Nier Automata but every single one of them make my mind feel empty during Battle just bottom smash for Sword or Gun.

this time they did very well on gameplay i feel tactic and feel of game, really enjoy it so far.
