Two JRPG masterpieces return. Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins are back with improved graphics and new features to aid game progression, making them even easier to play!
A long time ago, there was a great conflict between the evil god and the people. After a fierce battle, the people managed to seal off the evil god, but what was left behind was only a desolate land. The people thus chose to abandon the land and live in the sky.
Such fairy tales were passed down as legends. At this time, people had wings called Wings of the Heart and lived peaceful life. It was an era of long-lasting tranquility. ...But the collapse had quietly begun.
When a young man calls your name, the name of the spirit, the story begins to unfold. A story set on a floating continent in the sky, where thoughts and prayers intersect.

Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster
I highly recommend this game if you are a JRPG fan. While it is sad that they didn't include the English voice acting, you can still enjoy the card-based gameplay, unique characters, the beautiful art and the soundtrack (which I consider a masterpiece and was composed by Motoi Sakuraba).

Fantastic remakes!
I never got to play the original games and buying them these days was way too pricy, but getting two games for about forty bucks is an insane bargain. The battle system is quick and fun, the loading times aren’t bad, and the graphics look pretty nice on the switch. Overall, I haven’t beaten either of them yet, but I love how easy they are to play for 15-20 minutes on the train and then pick up again later on the way home. Absolutely worth every penny.

Two RPGs in one package
I never played the two Baiten Kaitos games (but I own them on Gamecube.) This package from PA finally gives me a reason to play through these two games now. Looking forward to a good JRPG on the Switch.

Baten Kaitos I &II Hd Remaster
Nostalgia at its finest. Enjoying playing the first one on the GameCube and I'm looking forward to playing it again on the Switch. Never got a chance to play the second one but it I'm looking forward to playing once I finish the first game. Let's hope Nintendo greenlights others like Lost Kingdoms.

Beautiful Game, Imperfect Remaster
In many ways, this is a beautiful remaster of two already excellent games. The graphics have been cleaned up to really let them shine at their best, the audio is excellent, and I appreciate that they took the time to add sound effects to things that weren't there in the original. Some quality of life updates have been added that also make the game more customizable to the player's needs. The fact that there is no option for English voice acting is a little disappointing, especially during the battles, and I found the added censorship to be unnecessarily intrusive. The biggest problem here is the poorly-implemented filter for naming the player's Spirit. This is a nonsensical addition for a single-player only game, but worse is the fact that the filter will prevent players from using even innocuous names if they happen to contain certain two-letter combinations that are deemed 'inappropriate.' While this may not affect everyone, it is the kind of issue that can hamper the experience from the outset and I don't see any point for it. Hopefully this gets patched out at some time, as it is unnecessary. On the whole, though, in spite of these small imperfections, I would absolutely recommend this remaster, particularly to people who haven't experienced the games before. Both games are card-based RPGs at their finest with some of the most beautiful environments and music of all time.
