Lots of fun even if I dont totally know whats going on!
Loved train simulators forever and found out about this unit through Techmoan on Youtube. It's the PS2 version of Densha on a chip installed in a Japanese train throttle/break set. Plays great, you can quickly workout what's going on even if you dont understand Japanese. Definitely recommend. Was delivered quickly.

Fun Plug & Play!
This is not your standard "NES-on-a-chip" Plug&Play. While it's not a powerhouse (replays have choppy moments, pop-in is common), it's a generally smooth and pretty implementation of PS2's Densha de GO! FINAL from about 2003. Looking up details of this title will tell you most everything you need to know about this version.

It has the on-board ability to save your progress, there is a little inset on the control panel for a pocketwatch(!), and the vibration motor inside does an EXCELLENT job of adding a little bump through the controls over rail seams in time with the sound effects!

I know it's expensive compared to other P&P's and USB controllers for PCs/consoles, but having everything in a standalone package is great for casual fans of trains for exactly the reason in the name: Plug and Play.

Warning: To get everything out of this game requires an understanding of Japanese instructions and place names, but since it's primarily just two levers and easy-to-read on-screen gauges, it's possible to play proficiently as a driver through only a little trial and error. Menus have some English, but most setting values (Yes/No, On/Off, etc.) are in Japanese. Some Routes, especially the Yamanote Line, have PA announcements in English, just as the real train does, and it's a fun touch.

Disclosure: I know very little conversational Japanese, but I can work out most Katakana (often used for English words like "Brake", etc.) and have spent time with a Densha de GO! title in the past. I currently can't understand most of it, but can navigate the core of the game with little frustration, which doesn't mean I do things right the first time every time.
