Fun and relaxing
Mahou no Pen resembles the My Sims world. You explore the world and draw the items people are wishing for. Don't expect anything artistic though. In this case drawing means connecting the dots, so the end result will always be the same. That also goes for coloring - once you've done well enough, the game fills out the rest.

The game is very cute and relaxing, but can't be recommended to people looking for a challenge (for example pre-teens with artistic hobbies). It can be fully played with no knowledge of Japanese language.
