highly recommended
squaresoft boldly experimented on the shmup genre. i wished they continued this experiment on the current gen (ps3) because the attention to detail, mood, music, sound effects and gameplay is tremendous.
it is a visual treat from start to finish as you once again (like in all shmups) play the solo fighter pilot (who will choose from 5 ships - 2 are secret) against a planet's worth armada of enemy fighters, robots, lasers and bullets.

this game is highly recommended, if anything it would be a good example of how a shmup can be done right and be inventive and creative in what some may see to be a very formulaic genre.
