Item Description

Front Mission comes back in its first HD remake ・The game features a modern model with improved controls

In the year 2090, the world's conflicts are fought using giant war machines called Wanzers. Huffman Island, the only place where the Oceania Cooperative Union (O.C.U.) and the Unified Continental States (U.C.S.) share a land border is a hotbed of conflict.

An O.C.U. reconnaissance platoon led by Captain Royd Clive is assigned to investigate a U.C.S. munitions plant. They are ambushed by U.C.S. Wanzers, triggering a series of events that plunges the whole island into war. Royd's fiancée, Lieutenant Karen Meure, goes missing in action.

Discharged from the military, Royd sets out to investigate what happened to Karen. His quest leads him closer and closer to the conspiracy behind the incident and the powers that orchestrated it.

With dozens of characters to meet, its mature story, and non-Manichean protagonists, Front Mission is the classic of a tactical Japanese RPG genre, finally available worldwide.

Probably one of the best Turnbased tatics games.
Front Mission 1st is a good turn based tactical games and probably one of the better mecha themed games I have played. It has a lot of customization options for the bots and it has two fairly compelling campaign storylines (they actually interweave). It has excellent 2D art, gameplay is great and they did a good job on upscaling the graphics. It kind of feels like you’re playing Vietnam War movie video game but with mechs.

It’s a good game overall that is worth picking up if you’re a fan turn based tactical RPGs or the Mecha genre in general media (if you like Gundam 08MS Team or Patlabor, you will probably like this game).

FONT MISSION 1st: Remake
I never played the original game so I can't compare this to the older versions. This is pretty much a typical SRPG which means the battles take quite a while. The graphics looks impressive. The story is good and becomes better the more you play. The game sounds great as well. I would recommend this to anyone who likes older Japanese SPRGs.
