Item Description

G.T., originally released as a pre-release single from the 1986 album "Futurista," is reissued on color vinyl. "G.T." is an abbreviation of the Italian "Grand Turismo," meaning a grand journey, and as the title suggests, it is a fast-paced and danceable electric funk tune. The vocals feature Bernard Fowler, a member of "NYC Peech Boys" produced by legendary New York DJ Larry Levan and also known as a backing vocalist for The Rolling Stones. "Parolibre," included on SIDE-B, contrasts with "G.T." as a piano-centered piece reminiscent of Chopin's preludes, featuring vocals by Kaori Kano and guitar by Arto Lindsay. It is one of Ryuichi Sakamoto's representative works that has continued to be performed later in piano trio and piano solo arrangements. Remastering is handled by Heba Kadry, who also worked on the analog reissue of "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" released in 2024.
