Item Description
All of Yokomizo Seishi's masterpieces have been accompanied by these cover illustrations.
Sugimoto Ichibun began illustrating the covers of Yokomizo Seishi's Kadokawa Bunko works with the second edition of "The Village of Eight Graves" in 1971. He continued to work on many other Yokomizo works, and his illustrations had a strong influence on his work, gaining him widespread support amid the boom in Kadokawa films at the time. Many readers still speak of his impressions of these covers, and recent reissues have also proven popular.
This book features over 120 cover illustrations by Sugimoto Ichibun, primarily for Yokomizo works published in the Kadokawa Bunko series! These illustrations are a part of masterpieces such as "The Inugami Curse," "The Village of Eight Graves," "The Honjin Murders," "Death on Gokumon Island," "The Devil's Ball Song," and "The Devil Flute Murders." The 1971 cover illustration for "The Village of Eight Graves," Sugimoto's first work, is also included in this art book for the first time. The book also includes a long interview with Sugimoto, who remains an active artist, and a chronology of Yokomizo Seishi's cover illustrations. This must-have book for fans includes many cover art from different versions, data sections unique to Kadokawa, and novel quotes. Published to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Kadokawa Shoten's founding. Delivered in full color and luxuriously bound.
