Your 'Monitor' Matters with this Game
I can only speak from my experience with the PS2 version, but I'd bet this applies to most, if not all, 'last gen' Power Pros:

The game's controls are much more responsive when played on an old-school/non-HD television.

The batting cursor on normal/default setting is unplayable on an HDTV. The fielders also lack responsiveness. But these are testaments to this game's brilliance/preciseness. It was designed for play on 'last gen' consoles and 'last gen' T.V.'s. Any deviation from this is tantamount to drinking a fine wine with ice cubes.

Adjusting the batting cursor to 'lock on' or 'best try' on an HDTV improves the experience, but it's clearly not the way the game was intended to play.

And unlike later Powerpro versions, this game does not have pitch speed adjustments.

***With all of these qualifications, this still is THE definitive Powerpro for PS2.

***So if you have the means to play on an old-school T.V. (I keep a little one next to my HDTV), this is one of the best baseball games you can play on it!
