Item Description

The third title in the Pierrot magical girl series is released on Blu-ray for the first time. Based on the concept of a girl's coming-of-age story, then-new singer Yoko Obata is cast as the lead voice actress and also performs the opening theme, ending theme, and insert songs. All 38 episodes of the TV series are included. The bonus disc includes non-credit opening and ending sequences, "Magical Star Magical Emi - Semishigure -" (1986 OVA, original version and director's choice version), "Magical Star Magical Emi - Kumo Hikaru -" (2002 OVA), "Finale! Finale!" (1986 OVA), "En Sugata Mahou no San Nin Musume" (1986 OVA), "Gomen Nasai Film" (apology film shown at a magical girl festival), and "Kaze no Invitation" (1998 music clip). A special booklet is enclosed. Comes in a Kurumi box & inner jacket featuring newly illustrated artwork by character designer Yoshiyuki Kishi.

Storyline:
Mai Kazuki is an eleven-year-old elementary school student who admires the legendary female magician Emily Howell. Her encounter with the fairy Topo, who resides in an old decorative mirror, completely changes her fate. Wanting a playmate, Topo gives Mai a magical bracelet that can grant any wish. Using it, Mai transforms into the genius magician Magical Emi and joins the up-and-coming magic troupe Magicarat, run by her grandmother Haruko. She begins a double life as an ordinary schoolgirl and an idol magician, presenting dazzling illusions never seen before.
