Very fun game
The Limited Edition version of Battle of Aces is loaded with nice goodies. Towels are rare bonuses, and the figma of Nanoha goes with a matching Fate figma that I have, which is a main reason I bought this. Much of the rest is common bonuses, which are fun to look at.

Although knowing insufficient Japanese, the menus are simple enough and the difficulty curve is pleasant enough to make this game easy to pick up and play. Not knowing the story is a minor setback, but an imminent viewing of the series will fix that. The game is enjoyable enough to want to continue.

Good game but has space for improvement
The combat system is simple but challenging. In melee combat, it becomes a 2D fighter with a simple attack/block/throw button interface. However, when you move to long range, the game really shines. It's really gratifying to catch your enemy in a bind and blast them with a divine buster. Also, dodging and timing your attacks is vital. Transition between melee and ranged combat is very smooth and nearly unnoticeable. The individual character's are varied and fight differently.

My biggest complaint is the small cast size. Well some of it can't be helped since there just aren't that many characters to begin with. But they still could've included Yuuno and Arf. They could've even thrown in Graham's familiars if they wanted.

I hope there'll be a sequel. And if they do, then include the characters from StrikerS. The numbers and forwards would greatly help the cast size.
