The protagonist is Kyosuke Watarase, a student attending a full-boarding high school. One day, he suddenly receives a device from his family living overseas, containing an artificial lifeform in human form known as a "Replis." It is a creation that his father and older brother had been primarily researching and developing. Kyosuke attempts to activate the Replis by configuring its personality to match his ideal girl; however, an accident occurs, resulting in the birth of Reu, a girl who is no more than an infant in behavior and cannot be controlled as intended. Although Reu appears to be a girl of the same age as Kyosuke, her childish speech and actions constantly bewilder him.
