FAQs and Guides:

Is this a physical card?

No. This is a digital product only. You receive a redemption code digitally (via email or order page). No physical card is shipped.

Is the Nintendo eShop Digital Gift Card region‑locked?

Yes. Nintendo eShop gift cards are region‑locked.
The card’s region must match your Nintendo account region (for example: US card for a US account, JP card for a Japan account).

Which devices does it work on?

It works on:

  • Nintendo Switch
  • Nintendo Switch 2
  • Nintendo Switch Lite
  • Nintendo Switch OLED

Do I need a credit card to use it?

No. After redeeming the gift card, purchases are made using the eShop wallet balance, so a credit card is not required.

Can the code be reused or refunded?

  • The code is one‑time use only
  • Digital codes are generally non‑refundable once delivered or redeemed

Q: What is the "New Zealand time zone trick" and why do players buy NZ gift cards for it?

A: The New Zealand time zone trick is a workaround that allows gamers to play selected newly released digital games up to 12 to 19 hours early. Because New Zealand is one of the first regions globally to reach midnight on launch day, digital titles unlock there first. Since Nintendo eShop accounts are permanently region-locked and the New Zealand store explicitly rejects foreign credit cards, international players create secondary New Zealand Nintendo eShop accounts and buy New Zealand Nintendo eShop gift cards online to fund their digital purchases and bypass these restrictions. This trick does not apply to all games, please check the specific game's release schedule first.
