Item Description
“Our Time” by Kiyoshi Sugimoto is an official music release presented in a premium vinyl format, offering a warm and immersive analog listening experience. Known for his refined musical style, this album highlights a collection of tracks that emphasize melody, mood, and balanced instrumentation, allowing listeners to fully appreciate the depth of each composition.
From J-DIGS, a project that shares Nippon Columbia's catalog with the world, six Japanese jazz masterpieces are reissued on vinyl. Cool and groovy. A jazz-funk album by a master guitarist, filled with style and sensuality. Kiyoshi Sugimoto turned professional in 1960 and went on to play an active role in numerous sessions and recordings, cementing his status with leader albums such as "Country Dream" and "Babylonia Wind". This work was recorded shortly after his approximately one-year stay in the U.S. for musical study, with Akira Ishikawa, Hiromasa Suzuki, Shuichi Murakami, Akira Okazawa, Takao Uematsu, and others. Beginning with the groovy and lustrous "Our Time" and "Marmalade Sky", the album features appealing tracks that can be described as lying between jazz rock and fusion, such as "Jones Street", with its mysterious keyboards flying about, and the melancholic and beautiful "Quiet Pulse", composed and arranged by Hiromasa Suzuki. It is one of Sugimoto's representative works from the mid-1970s.
