Very hard to figure out.
I understand that this being in Japanese would have been a problem, but I have never figured anything out on this game. I used MyJapaneseCoach DS to translate some things, but it didn't help much.

This game would be amazing if it was in English, but it's Japanese only. You will not get by in RPG Maker DS unless you know quite a bit of Japanese.

Overall, the creation system works very well. The game lags sometimes when it searches through premade maps, but it's a very large game and a bit much for the DS to handle. There is a large selection of music and objects for maps and characters. You can name every town, item, character, text, everything in this game. But the language problem always comes up anytime I try to do anything. I have never figured out how to save anything.

The bottom-line on RPG Maker DS is you need Japanese to enjoy this game. The graphics are nice though. They are like DS RPG game graphics. They kind of look like Final Fantasy Advance graphics.

I also found out that this game is region protected for the most part.

Do It Yourself RPG!
Little bit complex at first, but after a little fiddle you will be stuck into making your own unique story. Design map, towns, choose stats for players, monsters, weapons, items and even spells. A very detailed and fun way of RPG creation. knowledge in Japanese language is a must though.
