Great collection of Samurai Shodown except...
SNK again omits the final Neo Geo game which is Samurai Shodown V Special (Samurai Spirits Rei Special in Japan). For that I can never give it 5 stars...

The ultimate Samurai Shodown collection
What can I say.

Do you like Samurai Shodown??

Then don't hesitate and get this gem, where you can play throught Samurai Shodown 1 to 6, with lots of customizations, options and game modes.

It's the ULTIMATE Samurai Shodown collection.

A great anthology
Any fan of sublime 2d fighting games should pick this up. SS 1-5 are very nice to look at and enjoy. SS6 is an absolute mess of a game, but it's just nice fan service for what it provides.

I dislike the fact I cannot turn off the smoothing filter of this game. On HD TVs it just looks odd. Better played on SDTVs, but still doesn't look quite right. It's odd that this option was omitted seeing as how other Japanese SNK collections had this ability.

I also have the ps2 version, but I prefer the wii version. It looks sharper overall, and performs slightly better.

It's a real pity this kind of collection didn't come out earlier than it did, because I think it would've sold better. Also, it's too bad samurai shodown V Special is not on this compilation, as it's better than SSV. I suppose SNK wanted to keep it exclusive to the Neo Geo, but then maybe it's just as well they did. The AES SSVSpecial censoring debacle probably would've happened again. haha

Faithful to the arcade
A must get if you're a Samurai Shodown fan. Controls beautifully with my Wii Hori Fight Stick. Tight and responsive.
