Item Description

“Selection 1978–81” by Off Course is a compilation album that showcases the band’s musical evolution during the late 1970s to early 1980s—one of their most influential periods. This release highlights a selection of tracks from these years, capturing their transition into a more polished pop-rock and early city pop sound.

Two best-of albums personally selected by the members and originally released during Off Course's years with Toshiba EMI are reissued in consecutive months on the acclaimed super high-end analog format "100% Pure LP"! This second best-of album contains seven songs selected from three studio albums, from the 6th album "FAIRWAY" (1978) to the 8th album "We Are" (1980), along with four songs that were previously released only as singles. Focusing mainly on works from the band's era after Jin Shimizu, Jiro Oma, and Kazuhiko Matsuo joined the group, it includes universally known Kazumasa Oda classics such as "Ai wo Tomenaide" (Bill Schnee remix version), "Sayonara," "Yes-No" (with a flugelhorn introduction), and "I LOVE YOU," as well as Yasuhiro Suzuki's dynamic rock number "Ichioku no Yoru wo Koete" and Kazuhiko Matsuo's AOR-flavored favorite "Setsunakute." The album is packed with highlights from the group's golden era.
