Item Description

Ranko Tsukigime is an average high school girl by day and a deadly assassin by night. While taking on a new mission, an enemy organization threatens the lives of Ranko and her friends. This 2D fast-paced side-scrolling action game will draw players deeper into the schoolgirl/assassins thrilling life and serves as a video game tie-in to Katsuhiro Otomos four-part anime compilation film project, SHORT PEACE. POSSESSIONS, GAMBO, A Farewell to Weapons and COMBUSTIBLE are joined by the fifth and final part of the project Ranko Tsukigimes Longest Day. Players will put their reflexes and quick judgment to the test in fast-paced platforming gameplay that will have them blazing through dangerous, obstacle-ridden environments to flee from an ominous enemy looming close behind.

Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day is a stage-by-stage endless runner that doesn't really respond all that well, mainly due to how the gameplay is designed to be loose by its core nature.
Controls are decent enough for sure, yet both stage design and the rest of the action part are loose as hell and lacking that the game really doesn't deserve much attention.
It's animation sequences are decent enough, but you don't buy a game for its animation or story, you buy a game for its gameplay, and this doesn't deliver.

Great anime shorts and fun game
The short animated films from Short Peace that impressed me the most were Gambo and A Farewell to Weapons. The others were still very well-made. Highly recommended for animation enthusiasts and fans of Katsuhiro Otomo, known for Akira, Memories, Steamboy.

The game Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day by Suda 51 is a sidescrolling runner action game that has a very classic feel, but with up-to-date graphics and a grindhouse type of story expected from his previous games. The difficulty is well-balanced. The game rewards speed and collecting everything within levels.

Suda!!!
Never came out on PS3 in the U.S. but thankfully PS3 games are almost always Region Free! Here it is in English! Enjoy!
